Virtual Summer Congress for CIOMR (V-SC21)

V-SC 2021 Summer Congress

Dates: 6-8 Aug 21

Location: On line (virtual) and most likely hosted on MS Teams.  Zoom will be back up alternative.

Scope:

•         6 Aug: CIOMR EC Business.  Will follow set Agenda (with voting where required) with up to 4 hours allotted. Running times (tbc) 1330 – 1730 GMT.  Essential = VPs, Deputies or representatives, key leads (Committee Chairs), MCO, IT, LOs.  It was noted that a 3 day conference may prove challenging for some, but we must allow for shorter ‘virtual days’ (as opposed to full actual days) so as to support attendance from those whose time zones are “minus GMT” such as USA and Canada.

•         7 Aug: Scientific Programme.  Suggested theme will be confirmed by Chair SciCom but will likely focus on two main efforts, “Best Practice and Lessons Identified and linkage to Military Medicine” and with a secondary option for interested countries to brief on their “Medical Reserves and the COVID pandemic”.  Running times (tbc) 1330 – 1800 GMT.  It is planned that these sessions will be open to all Reservists of CIOMR Members/Delegations in order to maximise attendance and encourage interest in CIOMR and our activities.  An appeal is made by the Chair (Lt Col Richard Fawcett) for speakers from all Member Nations and from all specialities and employment groups!!  Richards email is: docfawcett@hotmail.co.uk . Please copy in the ASG so we can ensure a comprehensive list.

•         8 Aug: OMC Programme.  Suggested theme is Operational Medicine and Planning.  TBC by OMC Chair, Col Jaish Mahan.  Please use VP UK email address and cc the ASG.  Again, we would wish to maximise attendance and would welcome all Reservists.  We would also welcome speakers from as diverse and wide spectrum as possible!  Running times 1300 – 1700 GMT.
